A fantastic opportunity from UK Youth – deadline 14 April

UK Youth’s Summer Jobs Programme is co-funded by DCMS, the Youth Endowment Fund and Youth Futures Foundation. They are seeking employers to offer placements to young people, aged 16-20, over the summer months. Salaries and on-costs are all covered by the programme and Oxfam is already making good use of this scheme in their charity shops.
By taking part you can:
Help diversify your workforce, access additional staff resource for the summer months and develop the leadership skills of your existing team
Generate a potential pipeline of future talent in your organisation
Make a meaningful difference to your community by giving a deserving young person an opportunity to development invaluable skills and experience.
To see the impact this programme has, watch this video showcasing the experiences of previous participants and employers. Here’s the ask from employers:
Provide a five-week work placement (25 hours/week) – UK Youth takes care of all the HR and payroll admin including conducting right to work checks, and the young person’s hourly wage is fully funded by the programme funders
Assign a supervisor to support the young person
Attend a full-day, in-person training session in June to set everyone up for success.
Employers will have the full support of a dedicated youth worker (and UK Youth) throughout the programme. The programme is FREE for charities. UK Youth are holding weekly employer drop-in sessions every Thursday from 12-1pm, which is your chance to have your questions answered and find out more about the programme.

To formally express your interest in the programme, complete this form and someone from UK Youth will be in touch. Complete this before 14 April for the best chance of making it onto the programme.
