To help charities prevent loss through inadvertently accepting counterfeit banknotes, the Bank of England provides a range of free staff training materials including booklets, posters, computer-based training, training films, and deterrent stickers. Materials are available to order via an on-line order form. In addition we recommend charities sign up to our free Banknote Checking Scheme which promotes banknote checking at point of sale through targeted training, in order to reduce the number of counterfeit notes from being passed. If you have any banknote enquiries, please feel free to get in touch.
