There’s still time to get involved and organise an event for the campaign week (2 to 8 June). On the Volunteers’ Week website are a range of helpful resources to support you. Whether you’re planning an in-person or online gathering, working with a tight budget, or hosting a fun online quiz, there are handy tips and ideas.
Already planned your event?
Why not invite your local or national representative to join you? There are some handy tips to help you contact them at the right time, along with a letter template you can customise and send. MSPs, MSs, MLAs and MPs are often enthusiastic about attending events during Volunteers’ Week, so let them know about yours early so they can save the date!
Start promoting your event and planned activities:
Reach out to local or national media to help shine a spotlight on your Volunteers’ Week celebration. There are press release templates and useful tips for contacting the media, plus suggested social media posts to help you promote your event online.
Start planning and printing your decorations and handouts:
There is everything you need to add style and excitement to your event, including certificates, thank you cards, templates and a graphics pack to help you customise your messages. You’ll also find photo props, bunting, banners and more to decorate your event in line with the campaign. Plus a crochet pattern and colouring sheet are available to add those extra special touches and a bit of fun.
