Visibly be seen to conform to safeguarding requirements

A significant step in keeping staff, volunteers and customers safe

This is the first scheme of it’s kind for charity retailers. If you don't have such a scheme we recommend considering CRSS as a straightforward way of creating one. It has been designed to be operable by any size of charity that runs shops.

Ensure your stores’ safe recruitment practices

The template documents and e-learning course aim to ensure your stores’ safe recruitment practices and that management keep a core focus on safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults.

What is not covered by CRSS

CRSS does NOT offer proof of adequacy of your safeguarding arrangements. It offers a structured way of showing that shops have met your requirements.

Our thanks to Barnardo’s and British Heart Foundation

These charities provided the information that this scheme is based on. Without their help and guidance the CRSS would not have been possible.
