The Farleigh Hospice store is at 27 High Street in the former Scope shop, which closed recently.

Farleigh provides compassionate hospice care to adults with a life-limiting illness and their families across mid Essex. The charity also offers information and support to bereaved children and adults and makes no charge for any of its services.

Earlier this year, Farleigh extended its adult hospice care and bereavement support to all residents of Halstead and the Colne Valley.

The new Farleigh store had a full refit before it opened on 12 September. Customers were welcomed through the doors by some familiar faces as Store Manager, Sharon Vinter, Assistant Manager, Nicki Hill, and the volunteers from the Scope shop have returned to work there for Farleigh Hospice.

Sharon Vinter, has been at the store for over 30 years. To mark the occasion, she recreated a photo that was taken there three decades ago.

Sharon said,

“We are looking forward to welcoming our customers, old and new, to our beautiful new store.

“We’ve already had some lovely feedback about how bright and fresh it looks. People have also been signing up for Gift Aid, so their donations will raise 25% more for Farleigh Hospice. It’s great to get such fantastic support from the local Halstead community.”

Farleigh Hospice’s Halstead store is open Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 4.30pm.
